End of Summer Session

A quick heads up, there will be free photobooth strips at The Side Bar's booth on Thursday August 30th.  Come between 8:00 - 11:00pm.

Nothing fancy or high arty, just a chance to let people's creativity run free.  We'll post some good strips from the event.

Session 1 Contributions.  As a tip to viewing, if you click one of the photos, it will pull up a slideshow viewer, which makes for easier viewing.

Thanks for everyone who contributed.  The thing that struck me was how many people associated Austin with home.  That gives me a warm, happy feeling.

We had really good feedback with the evening last evening, so we are definitely going to do another session.  Going to have to think long and hard as to what the fill in the blank will be next time...

Contribution format

Wanted to get out a sample of how people will contribute to the project.  As you can see, it's simply a photostrip, your first name, where you were born, and what you think of Austin.  But, it provides enough structure so that people will be challenged to be creative about themselves and what they think of Austin.  Or at least that's the theory.  Looking forward to being pleasently surprised come April 25th.

Announcing The Austin Faces Project

The Austin Faces Project will serve as a discussion amongst the people that make up the community that is Austin, TX.  We'll ask simple questions about what it's like to live in Austin, as well as what Austin means to each of us.

How is it going to work?  The Project will be broken down into several contribution sessions, wherein Austinites will be invited to take photostrips of themselves and then caption their images with answers to questions about Austin.  It won't cost a thing to contribute, and the resulting strips will all be posted on this blog, with zero editing.  It's really a simple idea, but one that will hopefully garner honest insights into the character of Austin and its people.

So, without further ado, we proudly announce the inital contribution session date for The Austin Faces Project:
